Technical Manager - Construction Projects

About the role

A client, a construction company based in Lubumbashi, is looking for a Technical Manager to oversee all technical aspects of projects, from design to completion. The role ensures compliance with industry standards and regulations, manages technical teams and coordinates with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Handle project activities such as determining requirements for utilities, machines and manpower, and monitoring overall project operations
• Detail drawings, check them and estimate quantities
• Check process control during laying, compacting and curing operations
• Prepare mix designs from contract specifications and IS codes, confirm designed strength through tests, and maintain lab and field test reports, statistical records and testing documentation
• Maintain strict quality control and quality assurance procedures, prepare daily logs and reports, and keep records of inspections, tests and work executed
• Follow the Contract Administration Procedures Manual, observe site safety practices and report concerns to the Project Manager
• Attend regular client meetings to ensure construction meets the required quality

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in construction supervision of structures
• Familiarity with real estate development and good building practices
