Temple Facilities Assistant II

About the role

This entry‑level professional position ensures temple ordinances are kept pure and provides a positive, uplifting environment for patrons. The role supports the operation and maintenance of temple facilities up to 40,000 sq ft, following standards set by the First Presidency.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and report facility operation, safety, and maintenance issues to the Temple Facilities Manager.
• Execute compliance and safety measures under the manager’s direction.
• Coordinate customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, water treatment, laundry, baptismal font, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Service and adjust projection, sound, and communication equipment.
• Make modifications to mechanical or electrical systems as needed.

Required profile

• Current temple recommend holder.
• 2 years of technical training in a skilled trade plus 4 years of trade experience.
• 2 years of physical plant operation experience covering electrical, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, construction, mechanics, or floor coverings.
• Shop organization and inventory management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work rotating shifts.

Required skills

• HVAC systems operation and controls.
• Water treatment equipment for boilers, cooling towers, and baptismal font.
• Electrical systems including high‑voltage three‑phase wiring, motor controls, and lighting.
• Electronic systems maintenance (computerized displays, printers, UPS).
• Projection, sound, and communication system servicing.
• Blueprint reading and basic computer skills.
