People and Culture Officer (P-2) – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a People and Culture Officer (P-2) to support the emergency response scale‑up in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This six‑month fixed‑term position will work closely with the Chief People & Culture and the People & Culture Specialist (P‑3) to deliver targeted HR surge support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating People & Culture activities related to the Ebola response.
• Provide surge support for recruitment, onboarding, and staff administration.
• Collaborate with the Chief People & Culture and senior HR staff to ensure timely delivery of HR services.
• Support monitoring and reporting of HR metrics during the emergency.

Required profile

• University degree in human resource management, business management, international relations, psychology or a related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in HR management within an international organization or large corporation.
• Fluency in French and intermediate proficiency in English.
• Strong analytical, research, planning and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of information technology systems and tools.
