Lead Electrical & Airfield Ground Lighting Engineer

About the role

Infrarose is seeking a highly experienced Lead Electrical & Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) Engineer to direct all electrical engineering activities for a major international airport construction project. You will ensure that power distribution, lighting, terminal services, baggage handling, fire safety, communications and specialised airport systems are designed, installed, tested and commissioned to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the electrical engineering scope from concept design through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Design, validate and supervise medium‑ and low‑voltage distribution, standby power, UPS, grounding, lightning protection, fire alarm, life‑safety, communication and data systems.
• Manage specialised airport systems including AGL, approach lighting, HVAC power, FIDS, PCA, GPU, AODB, access control and passenger boarding bridges.
• Conduct site surveys, load studies and produce electrical design basis reports.
• Use 2D/3D CAD and BIM tools for design coordination and layout verification.
• Supervise on‑site works, review shop drawings, material submittals and method statements, and manage defect lists.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors and authorities.
• Monitor progress, cost and resources, support procurement and apply value‑engineering principles.
• Plan maintenance strategies, fault‑diagnosis procedures and support the transition to operational phase.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 12 years of experience on large‑scale airport or infrastructure projects.
• Proven leadership and coordination abilities.
• Strong knowledge of international aviation standards and local regulations.
